This section lists the malls from smallest and most local to largest and most extensive.  Web sites and store directories are listed in parenthesis. Driving time from Cartmel is noted in brackets under each mall listing.

NOTE: Pennsylvania has a 6% sales tax on all items but food (except for ready-to-eat), most clothing apparel, textbooks, drugs and residential heating fuels. Delaware has no sales tax.  Items delivered from Delaware to Pennsylvania will usually require the addition of PA tax.

Local Shopping Centers

Longwood Village Shopping Center is off Baltimore Pike (Rte. 1S) just west of Longwood Gardens.  It houses Staples, T J Maxx and Starbucks, etc. It was formerly the home of Superfresh Market.  People may still reference it until a new tenant is found.

Marlborough Square  is across the street from Longwood Village shopping center.  Its anchor stores are Giant and Walgreens.       [8 mins]

New Garden Center is off Cypress Ave., on the west side of Kennett Square. Houses a Giant Food Store, liquor store, etc.         [15 mins]


Major Shopping Malls    malls

Shoppes at Brinton Lakes, 49 Baltimore Pike (Rte 1N) just east of the intersection with Rte 202, Glen Mills, PA. Mall is on opposite side of Rte 1N from Concordville Town Center.  Houses a number of brand name chains, e.g. Williams Sonoma, Talbot, Pottery Barn, Chico’s, Pier 1 and Fresh Market (gourmet food).        [16 mins]

Concordville Town Center, 914 Baltimore Pike (Rte. 1N) just east of the intersection with Rte 202. Glen Mills, PA. Mall is on opposite side of Rte 1N from Shoppes at Brinton Lakes. A collection of big box stores, including Home Depot, Target, Marshalls, Jo-Ann Fabrics, Staples and an Acme.       [16 mins]

Glen Eagle Square 477 Wilmington West Chester Pike (Rte. 202S) Glen Mills, PA.  Mainly clothing stores, but also has Whole Foods Market.     [18 mins] 

Brandywine Town Center & Market Square  Brandywine Parkway off Rte 202 S in Wilmington DE.  The Town Center Mall on the right side of the parkway includes a number of big box stores, e.g Target, Lowes, Michaels, Bed, Bath & Beyond.  Brandywine Regal Cinemas are also near the end of this road.    Market Square on the left off the Parkway had a number of smaller stores including a Trader Joe’s.             [21 mins]

Concord Mall  4737 Concord Pike (Rte. 202S) in Wilmington DE,  Its anchor stores are Boscov’s (clothing), Macys, Sears, Barnes & Noble and Best Buy.            [21 mins]

King of Prussia Mall and “Court, At the junction of Rtes 202, 76, 422 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike, the mall features a diverse mix of over 400 stores, including Nordstrom, Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Lord & Taylor, numerous chain restaurants and some specialty stores, e.g. Crate & Barrel and the Container Store. [33 mins]

Christiana Mall, 32 Christiana Mall, Newark, DE. Take 95 S from Wilmington to mall exit.  Major mall with all of the usual stores and restaurants but also an Apple and Microsoft Store.        [29-32 mins]
